From Mexico — Apple just put Siri AI into the wild with today’s iOS / iPadOS / macOS 27 family (Engadget calls macOS Golden Gate), plus watchOS and visionOS 27. I’m reading this as a ship-today story, not a WWDC tease: the OS updates are out, and Siri AI starts rolling in English beta.
Say the limits early. Per Apple’s Newsroom post, Siri AI is not available initially in the EU on iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS; it’s also not available in China while Apple works through regulatory requirements; and it’s not available for users under 13. Engadget and 9to5Mac repeat the same EU / China / age gates.
What Siri AI shipped today
Apple frames Siri AI as a more personal, conversational assistant with personal context (surfacing info from messages, emails, photos, and more), onscreen awareness, and even more systemwide app actions. That’s the ship-today feature set I’m sticking to — not a full OS feature dump.
Languages: English first, today in beta. Next month Apple says it expands to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish — and I’m not inventing a bigger matrix. 9to5Mac notes the device language needs to be English at launch.
Hardware: Apple Intelligence class, not every iPhone
This is not “all iPhones.” 9to5Mac puts it simply: Siri AI needs an Apple Intelligence-compatible device — iPhone 15 Pro or newer on the phone side, Apple silicon Macs, iPads with A17 Pro or newer in their summary, Watch models that can run watchOS 27, and Vision Pro.
Apple’s own list is more granular for Apple Intelligence on these releases: iPhone 16 models or later, iPhone 15 Pro / 15 Pro Max; iPad mini (A17 Pro); iPad models with M1 or later; MacBook Neo (A18 Pro); Mac models with M1 or later; Apple Vision Pro; Apple Watch Series 9 or later, Ultra 2 or later, and SE 3 (paired with a supported iPhone). Same story: Pro-class / silicon floor, not the whole catalog.
