Jack & Jill’s $40M Series A — AI on both sides of hiring

From Mexico — skip the “another $40M” frame. London’s Jack & Jill just raised a $40M Series A led by Air Street Capital, bringing total funding to $60M, per The Next Web and the company’s own Series A post. The product story is the point: an AI agent on both sides of hiring.

Jack for the candidate, Jill for the employer

Jack works for the person looking for work — learning what they want through voice, email, and WhatsApp. Jill works for the company — reading the job description and pushing on what success in the role actually looks like. When both conclude the match is worth making, the candidate gets introduced directly to the hiring manager and never fills out a traditional application. That’s the pitch in both TNW and the company blog.

Air Street’s Nathan Benaich, who led the round, puts it cleanly: the next leap isn’t better searches over the same resumes — it’s an agent on both sides of the table, with an intro only when both sides would take the call.

Traction — labeled, and incomplete

TNW cites company figures: about 350,000 people have spoken to Jack, 5,000 businesses have used Jill, and the agents have arranged 25,000 interviews (now ~5,000 a month). The company’s blog puts the people network higher at ~380,000 across SF, New York, and London — same order of magnitude, different snapshot.

What TNW flags, and I’m keeping: interviews arranged is an input. The company doesn’t publish how many of those 25,000 became hires. I’m not inventing a placement rate.

Regulation as context, not a compliance win

TNW notes recruitment and candidate evaluation sit in high-risk territory under the EU AI Act’s Annex III, with transparency duties already in force for AI systems people interact with — and GDPR Article 22 on automated decision-making still in play. That’s sourced context for a voice/hiring agent product. I’m not claiming Jack & Jill has “solved” compliance.

My takeaway

From Mexico, the narrow read: Jack & Jill’s $40M Series A (total $60M, Air Street–led) is about putting an agent on both sides of hiring and only making the warm intro when Jack and Jill both say yes — not about flooding more applications into the same funnel. Traction numbers are company/TNW-labeled; hire conversion isn’t public. Sources: TNW, Jack & Jill.
