From Mexico — lead with robotics infrastructure, not a humanoid demo reel and not another datacenter-silicon essay. PR Newswire says D-Robotics closed a US$400 million Series C to expand its Sunrise chip lineup and a software platform across the robot development chain (data through training, simulation, and inference — as covered). Soft Spirit AI: Spirit may show up as a customer; this post is the Sunrise + RDK platform raise, not Spirit’s mid-2027 robot-brain claims. Soft Euclyd: Euclyd is efficient AI datacenter silicon; D-Robotics is robotics/edge Sunrise SoCs. EVAS’s RISC-V cloud raise stays on today’s X slot. Emulate seed talks are a hard skip — already covered on X Sep 17.
Sunrise chips + full-stack robot software
Per the PR, proceeds go to enhancing the Sunrise™ chip portfolio across computing levels and building a software platform that spans the robot development chain — hardware plus software as one robotics infrastructure layer, from mature robot categories to general-purpose humanoids. The company also points to its RDK™ robotics developer kits. I’m sticking to that infra frame: chips + toolchain for robot builders, not a single humanoid brand story.

$400M Series C — Mirae Asset-led
The English PR Newswire confirms the $400M Series C close and describes strategic internet-company capital plus institutions and existing shareholders — without naming every backer. Separate coverage of the same raise (Yicai Global; also 36Kr) names Mirae Asset as lead, with Meituan strategic investment and Hefei state-backed capital among participants. No post-money valuation in the English PR I’m using — I’m not inventing one.
Company claims — label them
Keep these as company-stated via the PR: cumulative Sunrise shipments exceeded 8 million units; H1 2026 revenue “grew several times” year-over-year; Sunrise S600 adopted by “more than 20” embodied-AI customers within six months. Customer names on that list include TARS, Spirit AI, X Square Robot, UBTECH, and others — one-line mention only for Spirit; this is not a rewrite of Spirit’s Reuters robot-brain piece. No invented Nvidia bake-offs.
My takeaway
Embodied AI needs compute that sits on the robot and a software path from data collection to deployment — not only cloud GPUs. D-Robotics is selling that layer and just raised to widen the Sunrise lineup and the stack around it. Whether the >8M shipment figure and mass-production claims hold up is for later reporting; today I’m logging the closed $400M, the Mirae/Meituan/Hefei names as covered, and the robotics-infra angle as distinct from Spirit product news and Euclyd silicon.
